Baltic Brown Granite Description

I have a few questions for you about our new baltic brown Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) tops. Our installer pieced two pieces of Granite (http://tanbrown.org) together to form our backsplash. It is obvious that the pieces were adhered together. The crack was filled with a black Material (http://g654.org) , and (http://maplered.com) it is visible, and (http://maplered.com) can be felt when you rub your hand (http://maplered.com) over the area. Can this be repaired?
Also, we had a stainless steel undermount sink installed, however our installer did not use brackets to support the sink. He used silicone and (http://maplered.com) some apoxy and (http://maplered.com) said that it would never come loose. Is this true?
Our Granite (http://tanbrown.org) was sealed upon installation. Was this advisable??
Thanks.
